A welcome guide to your photoshoot journey♥

Welcome to Your Portrait Photoshoot Experience!

Thank you so much for booking your session with me! I’m really excited to create professional, polished portraits that represent you — whether they’re for your business, personal brand, online profiles, or simply to capture you in this season of life.

Many of my portrait sessions are designed for business and professional use, such as websites, social media, and marketing material. That said, this experience is just as perfect for personal portraits, lifestyle images, or updated photos of yourself. The goal is always the same: natural, confident images that feel authentic and timeless.

To help you feel fully prepared and at ease, I’ve put together this guide with helpful tips on what to expect, how to prepare, and how to get the most out of your session so everything runs smoothly on the day.

What to Expect

Session Length: Portrait sessions usually last around 45–90 minutes, depending on the type of shoot and how many outfit or location changes you’d like.

Setup & Location: We’ll work together to choose a setting that best suits your style and goals — this could be in the studio with a clean, polished backdrop, outdoors in the garden for natural light, or a combination. The space will be set up to ensure you feel comfortable, confident, and relaxed.

What We'll Capture: We’ll start with some classic, professional portraits — the poses and expressions that best represent you. If you’re including family, colleagues, or a partner, we can also capture a few group shots. Throughout the session, we’ll focus on natural, authentic moments to make sure your images feel genuine and timeless.

Pacing & Comfort: Everyone moves and feels comfortable at their own pace, so we’ll go slow if needed and take breaks as necessary. If you’d like to bring props, accessories, or even a change of outfit, that’s welcome — anything that helps you feel confident and reflects your personality.

The Goal: The aim is to create portraits that showcase your best self — confident, approachable, and authentic — whether they’re for professional use, online profiles, or simply celebrating this moment in your life.

Preparing for Your Session

Clothing & Preparation for Your Portrait Session

To help you feel confident and look your best during your portrait session, here’s what to keep in mind:

Outfits: Bring one or two outfit options, especially if you want variety in your images. For business portraits, choose professional attire that reflects your brand or role. For personal or lifestyle portraits, wear clothes that feel like you — simple, comfortable, and flattering.

Accessories & Props: Consider bringing small accessories, like a watch, necklace, scarf, or anything that adds a personal touch. For lifestyle portraits, props like a book, coffee cup, or laptop can help create natural, authentic moments.

Hair & Makeup: If you want professional hair or makeup, you can book that as an add-on before the session. Otherwise, come camera-ready or bring a few touch-up items so you feel polished and confident.

Comfort & Fit: Choose outfits that are comfortable and allow you to move naturally. Avoid tight clothing or distracting patterns — solid colors or subtle textures work best.

Outdoor Sessions: If your session is outdoors, dress appropriately for the weather. Layers are a great idea, as they allow for quick adjustments and add depth to your photos.

Confidence & Energy: Make sure you’re well-rested, hydrated, and have eaten beforehand. Feeling relaxed and energized always shows in your portraits.

During the Session

Relax & Enjoy

We’ll keep the session calm and at your pace. Take breaks if you need to — the best portraits happen when you feel natural and confident.

Be Yourself

Move, laugh, and interact however feels right. I’ll guide you, but the most authentic moments come from genuine expressions and relaxed energy.
